Yes. All players must pre-register online before attending a game day. You must have your own individual account — accounts cannot be shared. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must complete the consent section during registration.
You need to be at least 12 years old to play. If you are under 18 and don't hold a New Zealand Firearms Licence, you are not permitted to use a replica above 1.13 joules. Players aged 12 must have an adult guardian on the same team.
No. We have a number of M4 full and semi-automatic airsoft replicas available to hire for the day. We provide batteries and magazines — you purchase your own BBs on the day. Eye protection and face masks are available to use for free if you don't have your own.
Yes, as long as you have read and understand our rules around joule limits and the different replica classes (assault, DMR, LMG, sniper). New players to our field are subject to a probationary period — please read the rules. You should also be familiar with the laws around owning and transporting an airsoft replica. If you're unsure of your replica's joule rating, we can test it for you.
Absolutely! We love it when our members introduce the sport to their friends. Just make sure they pre-register and read the rules before playing. They will need to sign the TAR Release of Liability Waiver before their first game.
No, sorry. TAR is a member-run club and we only organise our regular fortnightly club events. If it's your birthday and you want to come play with us on a regular game day, you are more than welcome — just register and follow our normal process.
Our games run every two weeks on Saturdays, all year round. Check our Events page for upcoming dates.
We play on privately owned farmland in Midhirst — all outdoors. We only play when weather permits. The final Game On or Game Off call is made 24 hours before the event and posted on the event page and our Facebook group.
Appropriate clothing for the weather — camo if you have it. Boots (not sneakers). A water bottle and food or snacks. Don't be put off by players with lots of gear — you can wear anything and still have fun. If you're bringing your own eye protection it must meet ANSI Z87.1+ (USA) or AS/NZS 1337.1:2010 (Australia/NZ) impact rating.
